Re-engineering Aba, A panacea to Abia economic growth – Iheanyi Frank Chinasa

A chieftain of the Labour Party and the Bende Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate of the party in the 2023 Election has described Aba as the engine room of Abia economy and therefore must receive special attention.

Speaking, just after the inspection of the Portharcourt Rd Aba by the Governor-elect Dr. Alex Otti with a team from the construction giant, Julius Berger, the U.S based I.T expert and MBA graduate of Maryland, extolled the prudence of the governor-elect at bringing in Berger to look at the construction challenges of the Portharcourt road and chart a new framework for other road infrastructures.

Chief. Chinasa further stressed that the need to rehabilitate the infrastructures especially road, and electricity in Aba, can not be overemphasized as Aba remains the lifeline of Abia’s economy. He stated that the economic productivity of the region has been disrupted by poor road network which has made it difficult for investors and traders from across West Africa to come in and invest or transact with the many manufacturing enterprises that adorn Aba, making the city a ghost of what it should be.

He showed great optimism that the new administration led by Dr. Alex Otti will make Aba and indeed Abia the economic and infrastructural envy of our nation.
