Obasanjo storms Washington DC, sells Peter Obi presidency to over 49 world leaders

Just a few days after Chief Olusegun Obasanjo expressed his strong support for former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi’s bid for the presidency in 2023 in Enugu on the occasion of Chief Nnia Nwodo’s 70th birthday, the immediate past president general of Ohanaeze, the Igbo sociocultural association, the former military head of state as well as former civilian president, on Monday in Washington DC, enlisted the support of world leaders.

President Joe Biden is hosting the US-Africa Leaders Summit, which aims to increase cooperation with African countries and is attended by 49 invited heads of state and government from Africa as well as the African Union.

The three-day summit, which is also attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, will concentrate on important issues like the climate crisis, good governance, food security, and global health as well as expanding US-Africa trade and investment prospects.

Obasanjo went to the Atlantic Council’s welcome dinner that evening. The visitors listened to introductory remarks from Mr. John Rogers, Chairman of the Atlantic Council, and Mr. Macky Sall, President of the African Union and Senegal.

News continues after this ad Obasanjo Finally Revealed His Preferred Presidential Candidate Several additional keynote speakers, such as President Wavel Ramkalawan of the Seychelles, who was to welcome the attendees to Washington, DC, also graced the evening.

A Nigerian top business man, based in the United States, who spoke to OpenLife Tuesday afternoon said“Obasanjo devoted time to talk to most of the leaders about the state of Nigeria and the need to support the Labour Party candidate especially the 2023 presidential election.”

Obasanjo was said to have received quality attention from the world leaders who see him as a statesman and one of Africa’s foremost leaders to be taking seriously.
