The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration & Control, NAFDAC has suspended the production and distribution of Eva Premium Table Water 75cl, produced by Nigerian Bottling Company due to change in colour and presence of particles.
NAFDAC announced the decision through its twitter handle, @NafdacAgency on Friday.
The regulatory body also ordered the company to recall already distributed products, just as the agency called on the distributors to henceforth stop further distribution until investigation is concluded on the product with registration number, the NAFDAC Registration Number is as 01-0492.
“The production of Eva Premium Table Water 75cl at Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, Asejire, Ibadan, Oyo State has been suspended pending the outcome of investigation being conducted by the Agency,” NAFDAC said.
“NAFDAC has directed Nigerian Bottling Company Limited to recall Eva Premium Table Water 75cl as a precautionary step pending investigation.
“The company voluntarily reported on June 20, 2019, a change in colour of the product from colourless to light green and presence of particles in two lots.
“The affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl was produced between 22nd and 23rd May, 2019.”
