Party faithful,
Gentlemen of the press,
Today will go down memory as the day of victory for our party, victory for democracy and victory for the rule of law.
Like I have always said, ours will be service above self, innovations and inclusiveness in all the process of leadership.
Let me also affirm to you that today’s choice is not in error, but a devine arrangement by God. You will never regret this decision you took today because it is a decision that will liberate as well as enrich the common future of our dear state.
It is a truism that it is ONLY God that gives leadership to whom it pleases Him and at the time it pleases Him. I also acknowledged that in every contest, a winner must emerge, but in our case, it was a family affair which successfully ended without a Victor nor a vanquished.
Let me passionately call on my brothers and sisters who differ with us in opinion to join hands with us so that we can drive the same vision for the good of our people and the survival of our great party.
I therefore call on everyone to put our differences aside and work for the victory of the party at the polls.
I once again thank you for considering me worthy of the task of building a new plateau.
